Blinds for a 1BHK Flat: Full Cost Breakdown (2026)

A 1BHK usually has five to seven windows — the bill is decided by the two biggest ones.
A 1BHK is the most common first home in Delhi NCR, and blinds are one of the last items on a tight move-in budget. The good news: a full flat costs less than most people expect, as long as you know where the money actually goes.
How blinds are priced
Made-to-measure blinds are priced per square foot of window, with a minimum billable area per blind. At BlindsBazaar:
- Roller blinds: ₹100–₹250 per sq ft, most fabrics ₹100–₹130
- Zebra blinds: ₹120–₹190 per sq ft
- Minimum: 10 sq ft per blind
- GST: included in the price
The minimum matters: a small 2×3 ft bathroom window (6 sq ft) is billed as 10 sq ft. Read per sq ft vs per window pricing for why.
A typical 1BHK window list
Window sizes vary by builder, but a common layout looks like this:
- Bedroom: one 5×5 ft window (25 sq ft)
- Living room: one 6×5 ft window (30 sq ft)
- Kitchen: one 3×3 ft window (9 sq ft, billed as 10)
- Bathroom: one 2×2 ft ventilator (4 sq ft, billed as 10)
- Balcony door: one 3×7 ft (21 sq ft)
That is 96 billable sq ft in total.
Three budget options for the same flat
Option 1: All roller, standard fabrics
96 sq ft at ₹100–₹130 = roughly ₹9,600–₹12,500 for the whole flat.
Option 2: Mixed — zebra in the living room, roller elsewhere
Living room zebra (30 sq ft at about ₹150) ≈ ₹4,500, plus 66 sq ft of roller ≈ ₹6,600–₹8,600. Total roughly ₹11,000–₹13,000.
Option 3: Blackout bedroom, zebra living, roller rest
Blackout fabric usually sits in the upper part of the roller range. Expect roughly ₹12,500–₹16,000 depending on fabric.
Where to spend and where to save
- Spend on the bedroom. A proper blackout roller is the single biggest quality-of-life upgrade. See how to make a bedroom dark.
- Spend on the biggest window. It is the one everybody sees.
- Save on kitchen and bathroom. A simple moisture-resistant roller does the job.
- Skip motorisation in a 1BHK unless a window is hard to reach.
Hidden costs to watch for elsewhere
When comparing quotes, check whether GST, delivery, installation and brackets are included. Some cheaper per-sq-ft rates add these at the end. Our price comparison checklist lists every line to ask about.
Renting a 1BHK?
Outside-mount roller blinds need only two small brackets per window and leave minimal marks. Our guide to blinds for rented homes covers deposit-friendly options.
Get your exact number
Measure each window with the AR tool, enter sizes in the roller blind configurator, and you will see the exact price per window before you pay. Free site measurement is also available anywhere in Delhi NCR.
How to bring the total down without regret
- Combine two small adjacent windows under one outside-mounted blind if the wall between them is narrow — you pay the minimum once instead of twice.
- Choose one fabric for the whole flat. A single neutral roller fabric in every room looks deliberate and keeps you in the lower part of the price range.
- Leave frosted bathroom glass. If the ventilator already has frosted glass, privacy is solved; skip the blind.
- Delay the balcony door if the budget is tight; bedrooms and the living room matter most in the first month.
What not to cut: proper measurement and a written warranty. A wrong size or a slipping clutch costs more than the rupees saved on fabric.
FAQs
Can I order blinds for just one room first?
Yes. Many people start with the bedroom and living room and add the rest later — the price per sq ft does not change.
Is installation extra?
Installation is done by our own team in Delhi NCR, and every order comes with a free installation kit of brackets, screws and plugs.
