Blinds for a Rented Home in Delhi NCR: Deposit-Proof Options

The cheapest rental blind is the one whose brackets your landlord never meets.

Renters ask the same two questions in every enquiry: will this cost me my deposit, and can I take it with me? Both have good answers — but not from the readymade aisle.

Why readymade blinds disappoint on Indian windows

Stock sizes are built for somewhere else: Indian window recesses are almost never the standard widths readymade shelves carry, so the blind arrives "close" — which means a light gap at one side, a bracket fighting the frame, and a trim job that removes the side the mechanism needs. The honest rental rule: readymade fits temporary needs and standard-ish new-flat windows; everything else is a sizing lottery.

What actually works in a rental

  1. Measured rollers with minimal-mount hardware: made to your current windows at BlindsBazaar rates — roller from ₹100/sq ft, 10 sq ft minimum, GST included — with brackets that leave four small screw holes a dab of toothpaste fills on move-out day
  2. Outside mount where the frame must stay untouched: brackets go into the wall above the recess, keeping the uPVC or wood frame pristine
  3. Move them with you: measured blinds for one home often fit the next home's similar windows — a 4×5 ft blind is a 4×5 ft blind; the configurator remembers your sizes, which is why we suggest keeping the order handy
  4. Motorised where you cannot or should not drill high: battery motors avoid mains wiring entirely; roughly ₹3,000–₹6,500 per window

The deposit maths

Compare properly: a 2×3 ft readymade roller at a big-box store is cheap and fits nothing; a measured blind in clean roller fabric starts at ₹1,200 for the same window (billed at the 10 sq ft minimum, GST included), fits, and travels to your next rental. Four screw holes cost less than one ill-fitting blind you leave behind. The full size-by-size table is in the 2026 price guide; measure once with the guide or AR tool and keep the numbers — the next house will want them.
