Blinds Pricing Explained: Per Square Foot vs Per Window

Per sq ft is how the cloth is priced; per window is what you pay. Both are true.
"₹100 per square foot" and "₹2,000 for the window" are the same quote told two ways. Understanding the conversion takes five minutes and saves arguments with every vendor you will ever speak to.
The two numbers in every quote
- The rate — rupees per square foot of fabric, which moves with the fabric grade
- The billing floor — a minimum billable area per blind; we bill 10 sq ft even if the window is smaller, because cutting, hardware and fabrication cost the same on a tiny blind as a large one
Price = max(actual area, 10 sq ft) × rate. A 2×3 ft window (6 sq ft) is billed like 10 sq ft; a 4×5 ft window (20 sq ft) is billed at its true 20.
Worked examples at 2026 rates
- Bathroom 2×3 ft: billed 10 sq ft → roller from ₹1,000–₹1,300 depending on fabric
- Bedroom 4×5 ft: 20 sq ft → roller ₹2,000–₹2,600 standard fabrics; zebra ₹2,400–₹3,800
- Living room 5×6 ft: 30 sq ft → roller from ₹3,000; zebra from ₹3,600
All GST included. The full rate table, including premium fabrics up to ₹250/sq ft, lives in the 2026 price guide.
How to check any quote against this system
Ask three questions: what is the rate, what is the fabric grade, and what is the billing floor. Multiply and compare like with like. A quote that is cheaper on rate but has no floor written down will even out across a small-window home — bathrooms and kitchens are where quote comparisons are won and lost.
Per window, per room, per home
For budgets, aggregate: most Indian homes have 6–12 windows between 10 and 30 sq ft, so per-window totals run ₹1,000–₹3,900 in roller fabric and ₹1,440–₹5,700 in zebra. Price your actual list — not an average — in the roller and zebra configurators; measure first with the guide or AR tool, or book the free site measurement across Delhi NCR.
