Everything about zebra blinds
Zebra blinds — also sold as day-and-night or combo blinds — layer two sheer fabrics printed with alternating solid and transparent stripes. Tilt the stripes over each other and you get near-full privacy; slide them apart and daylight pours in with an unobstructed view. It is the only blind that gives you the mood of curtains and the precision of venetians in one flat, dust-free profile.
They have become the default living-room blind in new Delhi NCR apartments for a simple reason: one mechanism covers both roles — sheer daytime filter and dim-out evening privacy — for roughly the price of a good roller blind. BlindsBazaar cuts every zebra to your size from 120+ striped fabrics, with cassette, chain and motorised options.
Types of zebra blinds
- Dim-out zebra blinds
- Denser stripe coverage for bedrooms and studios — softens light heavily without full blackout.
- Sheer-to-view zebra blinds
- Lighter base fabric for living and dining spaces where you want daylight through the stripes.
- Cassette zebra blinds
- The tube and fabric hide inside an aluminium box for a built-in look and longer fabric life.
- Motorised zebra blinds
- Remote or app control — the popular pick for double-height living rooms and French windows.
Why choose zebra blinds
- Two fabrics in one: sheer view mode and privacy mode
- No cords hanging at the sides — safe around children
- Flat profile; suits flats with false ceilings and curtain boxes
- Wide colour range from warm neutrals to greys and pastels
- Easy maintenance — a dry wipe along the stripes is enough
Best rooms for zebra blinds
- Living Room: The signature zebra application: daylight with a view by day, privacy at night.
- Bedroom: Dim-out zebra layers soften morning light without pitching the room dark.
- Office: Presentation-friendly glare control for meeting rooms and cabins.
Zebra Blinds FAQs
What is the price of zebra blinds in Delhi?
Zebra blinds start from about ₹110 per sq ft for standard fabrics and run to ₹240 per sq ft for imported cassette and motorised versions. A 5×5 ft living-room window typically costs ₹2,750–₹6,000 installed-ready. Every zebra product page lists its exact per-sq-ft rate.
Are zebra blinds blackout?
Not fully — in the closed position dim-out zebra fabrics block roughly 85–95% of light. If you need true darkness for shifts or a media room, choose a blackout roller or a zebra paired with blackout curtains instead.
How are custom blinds measured?
Measure each window yourself with a steel tape — width at three points (use the smallest) and height at left, centre and right (use the longest) — or book our free AR self-measure tool / a site visit across Delhi NCR. Every blind is then cut to the exact size you send us.
Zebra blinds vs roller blinds — which is better?
Rollers are cheaper and can be 100% blackout; zebra blinds give adjustable view-versus-privacy from one pull and a softer look. Living rooms usually favour zebra; bedrooms and media rooms favour blackout rollers.
