Choosing Zebra Blinds by Colour: A Delhi-Light Guide

Colour changes with the light it filters. Judge samples at your window, not the shop.
Zebra fabrics carry colour through their sheer bands, so the room gets a tint, not just a texture. In Delhi light — strong mornings, famous 4 pm sun — the same fabric can read two ways. Here is the palette in practice.
The safe three
- Ivory and cream: warm the room, hide dust, and flatter wood furniture. The default that sells best for a reason; classy against both paint-white and cream walls
- Grey: the modern neutral. Cool grey suits bright south elevations; warm grey suits north light. Reads sharpest in the denser ₹170+ fabrics
- Charcoal and graphite: the screen's best friend. Charcoal zebra behind a TV takes the flare out of the afternoon and makes black bezels disappear
Where colour changes the rules
- Small rooms read darker: pick the lightest tone in the family you want; a dark cloth on a small window shrinks the room visually
- East windows amplify tint: a cream blind in 7 am sun glows gold; a grey one stays grey. Choose for the hour the room is used most
- Balcony doors want warmth: earthy tones — sand, olive-grey — read better against plants and outdoor light than pure cold greys
- Match the mechanism: rails come white or matched; on light fabrics a white rail disappears, on dark ones the matched rail keeps the top edge clean
How to decide in one showroom minute
Carry your paint swatch — or a cushion cover. Any mirror in the room also helps: it doubles whatever colour you choose. Samples at the Block E, Mangolpuri showroom sit against a window with real daylight, and the team keeps a north-light corner and a sun-side rail specifically for this decision — Mon–Sat 10am–7pm.
What it costs
Colour is not a price tier — the fabric grade is. Zebra runs ₹120–₹190/sq ft across the palette, GST included, 10 sq ft minimum per window; a 4×5 ft window typically lands ₹2,400–₹3,800. Compare fabric grades in the price guide and price your size on the zebra blinds page.
