Roller Blinds in Mangolpuri: Buying at the Factory Gate

Mangolpuri makes blinds for half of North Delhi. Buying where they are made skips a margin, not a quality step.
Walk the lanes between E Block and the Mangolpuri industrial edge and you will pass shops selling blinds that were made somewhere else — and, in a few buildings, the workshops that made them. Mangolpuri is a blinds-production neighbourhood, which makes it one of the best places in Delhi to buy direct, if you know the checks.
What "factory rate" should mean
A genuine manufacturer's counter quotes from a public card with no reseller layer: roller blinds from ₹100/sq ft, zebra blinds ₹120–₹190, GST included, with the 10 sq ft per-blind minimum stated openly. It is not "half of market price" — it is the market minus the middle, with the money going into fabric, mechanism and warranty instead of three layers of commission. Verify any Mangolpuri quote against the 2026 rate card before believing it.
The four checks before paying anywhere in the market
- See the making. The strongest shops here make on the premises — walk in, ask to see the cutting rail. Ours shares a building with the sample counter at Block E, and the Mangolpuri showroom page lists the address and hours
- Get the rate and the floor in writing. Rate per sq ft, 10 sq ft minimum, GST included — three numbers that predict the invoice
- Who measures and who installs? The workshop's own measuring and installation team; the market's mixed offer of "fitter aayega" has a failure mode and it lives at your window
- Warranty scope, in writing. Fabric, mechanism and motor covered for three years is the standard the shops with workshops can sign and the pass-through sellers cannot
Why buying in Mangolpuri actually favours the buyer
- Speed on the doorstep: repairs, retensioning and remakes route back to the same building — days, not weeks
- Colour-matching advantage: the same lanes stock curtain and furnishing fabric; the neighbourhood is built around window dressing
- Density does the price work: real competition within one neighbourhood keeps every honest seller close to the public card
What it costs, concretely
A 4×5 ft roller in a light-filtering fabric: roughly ₹2,000–₹2,600, installed, GST included; the same window in zebra ₹2,400–₹3,800. Every fabric's live rate is on the roller blinds page; measure first with the AR tool, or walk your window list into Block E for a workshop-side quote in person, Mon–Sat 10am–7pm. Walk-ins welcome, and the chai is nearby.
