How a Custom Blind Quote Works — and How to Check One

A good quote is three numbers and a fabric name. Anything vaguer is a trap.
Custom blinds are one of the last products where quotes still arrive by phone. That is mostly a tradition — the maths is four lines and public. Here is how a real quote assembles, so you can check any number against it.
The sum behind every quote
Billed area × fabric rate + add-ons = window price. Billed area is width × height in feet, with a 10 sq ft floor per blind. The rate comes from the fabric (roller ₹100–₹250/sq ft in 2026, most ₹100–₹130; zebra ₹120–₹190). Add-ons are motorisation (roughly ₹3,000–₹6,500 per window) and outside-mount hardware. GST is included in our displayed rates, with the invoice itemising it — insist on that framing from any vendor, because "plus GST" is an 18% swing.
Checking a quote in two minutes
- Ask for the fabric name and its grade — if the number is high, the cloth should show it
- Ask the billing floor — a quote without one is silently comparing itself against nothing
- Do the multiply — if the vendor's total is above rate × area, ask which add-on you were sold
- Ask who measures, who installs, and what a remake costs — the three post-price terms
Doing it yourself instead
Our configurator is the same maths running in public: pick or measure a window with the guide or AR tool, choose fabric on the roller or zebra page, and the exact price appears before checkout — including the billing floor on small windows and the motor if you choose one. The price guide shows the same numbers as a table, which makes checking someone else's quote a two-minute job.
If you would rather talk it through over the samples, the workshop showroom at Block E, Mangolpuri is open Mon–Sat, 10am–7pm — quotes there are the same maths, drawn from the same card.
