Buying Blinds Direct from the Manufacturer in Delhi: What Changes
Team BlindsBazaar9 October 20264 min read

Factory-direct is not a discount trick. It is who you are asking when something goes wrong.
"Factory rate" is the loudest phrase in Delhi's blinds market — every market stall says it. Here is what the phrase means when it is true, and how to tell the difference before you pay.
What genuinely changes factory-direct
- The price stack is one layer smaller. Reseller commissions live in the chain between maker and fitting; remove them and the same fabric lands at the public rate card: roller from ₹100/sq ft, zebra ₹120–₹190, GST included — see the 2026 price guide. Factory-direct is not "market price minus half"; it is an honest card with no reseller behind it
- Remakes are decisions, not negotiations. When the workshop is in the same building, a wrong measurement is re-cut this week, not argued about for a month
- The warranty is underwritten by the maker. A 3-year fabric-mechanism-motor cover means little if the shop is a pass-through with no workshop; it means everything when the same counter makes the replacement
- Answers are first-hand. Which sunscreen openness for a west window, whether a fabric can handle your kitchen, what a mechanism will do at 9 ft wide — the people who build the blinds daily answer differently than a display floor
How to verify "factory direct" in five minutes
- Can you see the workshop? In our case the production floor and the sample rail share the building at Block E, Mangolpuri — walk-ins welcome, Mon–Sat 10am–7pm
- Does the quote come from the same card as the website? Ours does; check it line by line
- Who measures, who cuts, who installs? Three answers, ideally one name
The wider context for Delhi: many "blind shops" across Pitampura, Rohini and the Mangolpuri belt sell readymade and PVC product made elsewhere. A maker's own counter is a different species — and it is right next to the city it sells to. Address, hours and directions: blinds in Mangolpuri; current range and live rates: roller and zebra pages.
