Entrance and Corridor Windows: Small Glass, Real Decisions

Corridor glass has two jobs: let the morning in, and stop the street counting your slippers.

The windows that decide a house's daily dignity are not in any moodboard: the entrance panel that shows the street your door routine, the staircase slit that three contractors measured differently, the corridor glass that lights the walk from bedroom to coffee. Small glass, specific jobs — here is the sensible stable.

Entrance and front-door glass

  • Light-filtering roller, half-height, kept low: trades the least daylight for permanent privacy from the street — from ₹100/sq ft, from ₹1,200 for a 2×3 ft panel at the minimum billable area
  • The matching deco move: one narrow roller beside the door in the same fabric as the living-room window — the entrance reads designed instead of forgotten
  • Grille or glass-panel doors: mount above the door, clear of the swing, drop to just past the last panel — the door guide covers the geometry

Staircase and corridor glass

  1. The reach question first: landing glass under 6 ft of drop takes a standard chain; anything above that quietly wants motorisation (₹3,000–₹6,500 per window) — the tall window guide runs the maths
  2. Light duty, not dark duty: corridors live on borrowed light — light-filtering rollers from ₹100/sq ft preserve it, and nothing here needs blackout's price
  3. High slits get dust choreography: if it cannot be lowered to be cleaned by a person on a floor, it gets a motor or it gets grubbier — decide at order time, not season three

The bundle rule for the small glass

Entrance, corridor and staircase openings are individually small — below the 10 sq ft minimum billing floor in most houses — which is exactly why they belong in the big order: minimums average down across a whole-home run, installers are already onsite, and the look stays coherent from door to corridor. Roller from ₹100/sq ft, zebra ₹120–₹190, GST included; tables in the 2026 price guide, live rates on the roller page.

One more entrance-specific tip from ten thousand Delhi doors: measure at the hour the street is busiest — evening — and judge the fabric's privacy then. The corridor, unlike the buyer, is seen at its most honest after dark.
