PVC Blinds: The Budget, Waterproof Workhorse

PVC blinds are the workhorse tier: waterproof, wipe-clean, and at from ₹18/sq ft the most affordable way to cover glass in India. They are not the prettiest option we sell — they are the most practical one for the right rooms.
Where PVC wins outright
- Bathrooms: steam and splash do nothing to it — fabric mildews, wood warps, PVC shrugs
- Kitchens: grease wipes off with a damp cloth
- Balconies and utility areas: rain-driven damp and dust
- Rentals and budgets: cover a whole flat for the price of two designer rollers
What "PVC blinds" covers
Two products share the name: PVC roller blinds (coated roll-up fabric — the common meaning in India) and PVC vertical louvres for doors. Both share the waterproof promise. Rollers suit windows; verticals suit sliding doors — see the vertical blinds guide.
Honest limitations
- Look: at the lowest price point PVC reads functional, not premium — keep it for utility rooms and spend on fabric where you entertain (see fabric grades)
- Heat: basic PVC blocks light but insulates poorly; hot rooms want honeycomb (see the insulation comparison)
- Ventilation: fully closed PVC stops airflow — crack windows behind it or choose slatted styles
PVC blinds price in India
₹18–40/sq ft depending on thickness/coating, per billable sq ft, 10 sq ft minimum, ₹500/window install, 18% GST (see the full pricing guide). A 3×4 ft bathroom window lands under ₹1,500 all-in.
