The blind you actually move every day deserves a motor.

A chain blind is perfect — until it is behind a sofa, three metres up, or you adjust six of them twice a day. Motorised blinds exist for exactly those windows; here is what they cost and when they are worth it.

What motorisation actually costs

A motor adds roughly ₹10,000 per blind (remote-included package), plus ₹1,500 for extra remotes or ₹3,500 for app/voice control tiers. On top of any blind type — roller, zebra, roman, honeycomb, even venetian tilt. Batteries are rechargeable via USB in current motors; no electrician, no wiring, a normal retrofit.

The three control tiers

  1. Remote: one handset drives up to 15 blinds, channels or all-at-once. Simplest, works forever, no WiFi needed
  2. App: schedules (all-down at 3 pm), room grouping, works from anywhere
  3. Voice: Alexa/Google routines — "goodnight" closes the house

Which windows justify a motor

  • Always: skylights and height (anything above shoulder reach)
  • Usually: the daily-adjusted living room set, blackout blinds in kids' rooms (nap schedules)
  • Often: media rooms, west façades on a schedule
  • Rarely: the guest room you touch twice a year — spend the ₹10,000 on better fabric

Motorised vs smart-home ecosystems

Our motors pair over radio to a bridge for app/voice control and work standalone with the remote — you are not locked into an ecosystem, and blinds keep working if WiFi dies. For most Delhi NCR homes: remote now, add the bridge later if the smart-home itch arrives.

Reliability notes

Expect 6–12 months per battery charge on typical use; motors are rated for years of daily cycles. Pair with honeycomb fabric on a hot wall and a schedule, and the AC savings quietly subsidise the motor (see honeycomb in India).

Configure motorisation on any blind — e.g. motorised blinds or add it in the configurator on roller/zebra/roman. A free measurement visit confirms which windows suit motors and where chains are fine.
