Blinds are priced per square foot, then floored by a per-window minimum. Both numbers matter.

Ask "what do blinds cost per square foot?" and most sellers give you a single number. The honest answer is a rate card plus one rule about minimums. Here is exactly how blinds are priced, with our live base rates.

The two numbers behind every quote

  1. A per-square-foot rate — width × drop in feet multiplied by the fabric/material grade
  2. A per-window minimum — small windows bill at a floor (10 sq ft minimum per window here), because the hardware and headrail cost the same whether the window is big or tiny

A 60 × 60 cm bathroom window is about 4 sq ft, but it bills as 10 — which is why tiny windows "feel" expensive. Three big windows usually cost less per square foot than one small one.

Blinds cost per square foot — our base rates

These are starting rates for the most-requested fabric grade; premium weaves and blackout linings step up. All include made-to-measure cutting.

  • PVC blinds: from ₹18/sq ft — the budget wet-room option
  • Vertical blinds: from ₹45/sq ft — tall glazed runs, offices
  • Bamboo blinds: from ₹95/sq ft — warm, textured, semi-opaque
  • Venetian blinds: from ₹120/sq ft — tilt control on aluminium or wood slats
  • Outdoor blinds: from ₹110/sq ft — exterior-rated fabric and hardware
  • Office blinds: from ₹160/sq ft — glare-rated sunscreens for workspaces
  • Roller blinds: from ₹175/sq ft — the everyday workhorse; see the fabric guide
  • Zebra (day-night) blinds: from ₹185/sq ft — dual-band light control
  • Roman blinds: from ₹190/sq ft — fabric folds, soft tailoring
  • Blackout blinds: from ₹195/sq ft — full light block for sleep
  • Sheer blinds: from ₹210/sq ft — soft daylight, daytime privacy
  • Motorised blinds: from ₹220/sq ft — before the motor itself; see below
  • Honeycomb blinds: from ₹240/sq ft — the insulating cellular option
  • Wooden blinds: from ₹260/sq ft — basswood slats, the premium look
  • Skylight blinds: from ₹320/sq ft — sloped-glass systems, rails and all

The four things that move your total

  1. Fabric grade: premium weaves and true blackouts cost more per foot than basic sunscreens
  2. Lining: adding a blackout or thermal lining to a roman or roller raises the rate
  3. Motors: a tubular motor is a flat per-blind add-on on top of the fabric — battery motors avoid wiring entirely
  4. Size band: very wide single panels and extra-long drops need heavier tubes and hardware

A worked example

A 150 × 180 cm living-room roller works out to about 29 sq ft. At ₹175/sq ft that is roughly ₹5,000 for the blind, plus fitting charged per window — the split is explained in the installation cost guide. Same window in honeycomb at ₹240/sq ft lands near ₹6,900; in wooden at ₹260 it is around ₹7,500.

Rule of thumb: the fabric grade you choose matters more to the final number than the blind mechanism.

Because Indian windows almost never match a chart, the reliable way to price a real room is to enter exact sizes and let the calculator do the minimum-billing maths. Do that per window on the roller configurator, or measure in minutes with the AR self-measure tool and get a quote that already includes the 10 sq ft floor — no guessing.
